Dear Mr. VP,
It is SO cold here, and it’s not even approaching what it’s like in other parts of the country. Luckily for you, you’re in Aspen, where it’s in the 40s and sunny.
I spent years traveling around the country for work, so it’s not a surprise I’ve been to Aspen. Aspen High School hosts a college fair, which is perhaps the fanciest fair I’ve ever been to. No soggy wraps and bad coffee for college reps there. They fed us gourmet sandwiches and Ben and Jerry’s. The high school has its own ski lift, so I can’t say I was that surprised at the treatment. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more people wearing Uggs in one place in my life.
When I was less tied to a particular geographic location, I thought maybe I’d find a job on the Western Slope and take off for Colorado. I think it’s one of the most stunningly beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
Honestly, I suppose I’m a little miffed that you get to advance policies that are ultimately going to despoil places like Colorado — and all the beautiful places I’ve visited — but get to go appreciate them anyway.
Do you even ski?
