“Priorities”: May 5, 2018

Dear Mr. VP,

You, at a Cinco de Mayo party: “The president has made the Latino community a priority and we always will.”

Headline from the New York Times, May 4: “Trump Administration Ends Protected Status for Thousands of Hondurans.”

Did you leave off the end of your sentence? Did you actually mean “The president has made the Latino community a priority to screw over…”?

Tens of thousands of Hondurans who have lived in the United States for up to two decades must prepare to leave, government officials announced Friday, a decision that effectively spells the demise of a humanitarian program that has protected nearly half a million people who had sought refuge from unstable homelands.

There’s actually no way you can possibly mean Trump’s administration has made doing positive and helpful things for the Latinx community a priority….right? That would be a bald-faced lie…right?

I’m a little confused because you seem to take a lot of Leviticus very seriously, but skip over the part where God commands us not to lie.
