Dear Mr. VP,
Sometimes, I get to the end of the day and I’ve forgotten to write. I’ve fallen asleep on a couch (not mine) in front of The Good Place, and been told to get myself to a real bed. I walk up the stairs only to remember I’ve committed to writing to you every day.
And then I get distracted by any number of things: Twitter, tooth brushing, fighting the urge to message someone at 11:30 PM, the copy of A Wrinkle in Time left in this bedroom.
But a commitment is a commitment, and I’m nothing if not fastidious when it comes to things I’ve said I’ll do.
I wrestle with what to write about. What’s too personal? What’s relevant? What can I formulate an opinion on right now?
Sometimes I come up blank.
I scroll through Twitter again to try and find something. I look at CNN.
I guess maybe I’ll just leave you with this quote.
